In early 2022, Mark Jacobs announced his intention to retire after 12 years as the Executive Director of the Washington Research Library Consortium. The WRLC's Executive Committee then began a nationwide search to identify the next leader of the organization. We are now pleased to announce that Kimberly Armstrong has been selected as Executive Director, beginning May 1, 2023.
Ms. Armstrong joins WRLC from the Orbis Cascade Alliance, a library consortium serving over 30 academic libraries in the Pacific Northwest, where she is currently the Executive Director. She has previously served as Director of Library Initiatives at the Big Ten Academic Alliance.
Ms. Armstrong is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she received a Bachelor of Music Education degree. She then received a Master of Music degree from Appalachian State University, and a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana‐Champaign.
