The Resource Sharing Supervisor directly supervises 1.5 FTE Access Specialists and 4-6 student employees and interacts with faculty, students, and colleagues at other academic institutions, such as the WRLC schools, national and international libraries, law firms and public libraries. Work Mode: Hybrid
The Resource Sharing Supervisor coordinates resource sharing services for the Georgetown University Library by ensuring that all resource sharing requests are reviewed and accurately filled in a timely and efficient manner; sets priorities, and makes decisions on a variety of complex matters. They train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate Access Services Specialists and student employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS
- 3 years of library experience
- 2 years of experience working with Resource Sharing Platforms
- Familiarity with the role of academic libraries meeting the information needs of students, faculty, and staff
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience supervising others
- Strong public service orientation
- The ability to learn new software programs and technologies
- Familiarity with Google Apps, especially Gmail, calendar, and Drive
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and to push carts weighing over 100 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with Alma and RapidILL
- 2 years of experience with OCLC ILLiad
- Experience navigating bibliographic databases, spreadsheets, and cloud storage
- Experience with digitization equipment, resources and tools
- Familiarity with software technologies - i.e., Adobe
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a complex, changing environment
- Ability to be diplomatic and negotiate disputes with stakeholders
